About Me

About us!

At Guppie's Puppies, we believe every dog deserves a safe, fun, and enriching experience during their walk. That’s why we offer dog walking sessions at fully fenced dog parks with plenty of trails, giving your pup the freedom to explore, play, and socialize in a secure environment. Each adventure lasts a minimum of one hour, ensuring your dog gets plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and play time.

Hello!! My name is Guppie!

Guppie in the Snow

I love to run, play, and smell a lot of stuff!

My boundless energy is why Guppie's Puppies was founded!

Why are we different?

When it comes to hiring a service to give your dog exercise and enrichment, you have three main options. You can pay someone to walk them around the neighborhood, you can pay someone to bring them to the dog park, or you can send them to a doggie daycare.

Leashed walk

  • If you pay someone to walk your dog on a leash around the neighborhood, your dog is limited to the length of their leash. They can't really run around, or play, or smell a lot of different things.

Regular dog park

  • You could pay someone to bring them to a dog park, but most dog parks are about 2 acres or less, and don't offer as much enrichment as large dog parks with trails. The woods have lots of paths to cover, and plenty of things to smell!

Doggie Day Care

  • A doggie day care is a great option for making friends and playing all day, but often lacks enough outdoor enrichment and large areas to run.

Guppie's Puppies

  • We are different because your dog will get to run around and smell whatever they want, unlike on a leashed walk. Your dog will consistently be hiking and walking for at least an hour, and they have choices of smelling every rock, stick, plant, tree and bug on the ground, or playing with their friends, which is something you cant get from a 2 acre dog park, and most certainly not from a doggie day care.

15 minutes of enrichment for a dog is equivalent to an hour of exercise. With Guppie's Puppies, your pet will be getting plenty of enrichment from smells, exercise from hiking for a whole hour, and socialization from playing with fellow adventurers.

FAQ

What is a deep enrichment hike?

Our adventures take place in large fully fenced dog parks with lots of trails! This ensures that our furry freinds have plenty of ground to cover, and things to smell. Whether Your dog wants to run, play, or smell everything, They’ll get whatever form of ENRICHMENT they like best! 15 min of enrichment is EQUIVALENT to 1 hr of exercise!

Are you insured?

Yes! We have dog walking insurance in case of harm or injury on adventures!

Will i receive photos/videos of my pup’s adventure?

yes! We have a google photos album link that will be sent to you after your pup’s first adventure!

Do you require vaccinations?

Yes! We require Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPPL Vaccines! We also HIGHLY reccomend a Flea, Tick and Heartworm medication.

How many dogs do you take at once?

There will never be more than 3 pups per adventure guide!

Why are harnesses required?

We require all pups wear a harness with a leash attatcnment on the back so that our furry friends can use Seatbelts during all car rides! This also keeps puppies safe when we are transferring them in and out of the vehicle!

How do I get started?

The first step is to fill out our intake form on our website! Once you’ve Successfully FILLED out our intake form, Guppie’s Puppies will contact you about setting up a meet and greet at a local dog park. Once we have verified that your pup is friendly and vaccinated, you’ll be able to start scheduling your pup’s first adventure!

Do you go to Minnehaha dog park? What is your stance on what is currently going on there?

I do not go to Minnehaha dog park, since it is not a fully fenced dog park. I am not an indigenous individual, so I do not feel that my opinion should be taken as the right or wrong opinion on this matter. I did however have the opportunity to grow up on an Ojibwe reservation. I also went to an Ojibwe school and college, therefore I think I may be able to offer some insight on this subject. I think that it is important to remember that we are all on stolen land, and I am a strong believer in the land back movement. Minnehaha dog park sits on sacred indigenous burial lands. Even if it wasn't sitting on sacred burial lands, I believe that if the local indigenous community is asking that we respect this land in certain ways, then we should honor their wishes.

Snow, Rain or Shine!

(Most of the time)

Snow, rain, or shine, we're here for your pup! We continue our dog walking services in the rain and snow to ensure your dog gets the exercise and care they need. However, the safety of your pet and our walkers is our top priority. In cases of severe weather—such as thunderstorms, heavy snowfall, extreme heat, or other hazardous conditions—walks may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled. We'll always notify you promptly if any changes are necessary due to weather. Thank you for your understanding!
